Our Florida Chapter is in a region of the United states that is active in Natural Disasters.
Corporately recognized by the State of Florida in early 2004 and quickly driven into action, that Fall, with our state being hit with multiple Hurricanes.

Responing to Relief efforts throughout Florida bringing necessary supplies into the state from New England, Alabama and places in between. Once we received a REQUEST from an Agency we supplied commodities of all types by making request to our network of Suppliers and then arranged for the delivery. This was continued in 2005-2006 with our response to the Recovery efforts here in Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi due to hurricanes Dennis, Katrina, Rita and Wilma. In 2007 we were relatively quiet in the disaster arena responding only to requested assistance to shuttle commodities into an area hit by a Tornado. We were priveliged to start a food pantry in a local Church to meet the nutritional needs of its community. The year ended by our assisting a Ministry in Laredo Tx. by picking up donated goods that were along the East Coast of the US and then delivering just after Christmas. 2008 began with a Tornado dropping down in Lake City, FL and because of its close proximity to our location we were asked (the only Agency asked) to provide food and water to the impacted area. August was a month of a great deal of flooding, due to Fay, here at home and September had us responding to the Houston, Texas area where we provided and assisted in Recovery efforts for the Survivors of hurricane Ike.

We have been active in the Response area and are reaching into the Long Term Recovery arena. Our ongoing Training continues to Prepare us as we continue the expansion of our Mission to Help to the Survivors of a Calamity or Disaster when they are most vulnerable.
